My guest today is Kathy Otten. Kathy has published fiction in many forms and genres, and has won awards for her writing. She teaches writing as well, and has been a freelance editor for a few years. I asked her to come on the podcast to talk about not only being a book coach, but also the certification process for that, which she completed last year.

Before I introduce today’s guest, I wanted to talk briefly about a new feeature—and a new episode—that I’m adding weekly to the show. I’m calling it “One More Word,” and it will be just me talking about an English word. It could be a word in the news, it could be some new jargon, it could be a word you’ve used for years but which has an interesting history. My guest is Murielle Marie, who has over 20 years experience in business, most recently as a thriving international career in coaching and helping creatives and entrepreneurs get unstuck. She’s got a large social media following, and in the midst of everything she is also writing a thriller.
My guest is Caroline Malloy, who is a former academic, but now is a book coach as well as a resident historian onboard cruise ships.
Dr. Heather Davis is a storyteller, certified book coach, copy editor, and an author platform expert. She has a B.S. in biology from Salisbury University, a PhD in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and has spent over ten years as a teacher. She also has a creative writing certificate from Stanford University, and loves helping passionate writers make the life-changing leap from dreamer to published author.
